Product Description

The Tax Working Group is to release an interim report in September.  This webinar will consider the changes to the tax system that the Tax Working Group is considering and what it has ruled out.

The Tax Working Group has been established by the Government to examine further improvements in the structure, fairness and balance of the tax system.

The Working Group was asked to consider

  • Whether a system of taxing capital gains or land (excluding the family home and the land under it), or other housing tax measures, would improve the tax system.
  • Whether a progressive company tax (with a lower rate for small companies) would improve the tax system and the business environment, and
  • What role the taxation system can play in delivering positive environmental and ecological outcomes, especially over the longer term.

The Group’s interim report is due to be released in September and this webinar will examine the contents of this report and discuss the Group’s interim findings on these issues.
